A smaller city zoo, Sunset Zoo still offers a variety of mammals, birds, reptiles and other animal classes. More than 325 animals represent 105 species in the zoo, including groups of monkeys, bears and wild cats. An innovative cheetah lure helps entice this animal, the fastest land-based animal in the world, to show off its speed. The zoo is located in Sunset Park, a mile southwest of the Kansas State University - Manhattan campus.
Open daily, Apr - Oct: 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Nov - Mar: noon - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $4; Children (3-12) $2; Children under 3 are free.
